A video consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other by working together to assess your organizing needs. We might even make a little progress sorting through things.

We’ll start with introductions. I’ll tell you how I got started in organizing and ask what got you interested in the same. I’ll share a little bit about my family and I hope you’ll feel comfortable telling me about yours, what you do for work, and what your goals are for your home. Then we’ll get down to business with a detailed video consultation.

You’ll walk me through your home and show me all the nooks and crannies, especially the disaster areas that are driving you crazy. On the tour we’ll open every closet, cupboard, drawer, amoire, and sideboard that you’d like to organize. We’ll dive into the basement, garage and attic–if those are in your plan. We’ll even walk out to the garden, if you’ve got a tool shed that needs tidying. If you’d like to read more, please look at our article on video coaching.

Every step along the way I’ll give you my honest professional opinion on how much time each area might take and how I’d approach the problem. You’ll also get lots of encouragement and my belief that you can do everything you desire as long as you’ve got the time and are willing to be patient with yourself. I’ll talk about the habits that make an organized home stay an organized home.

It is fun. And, if you’re game, we going to practice organizing. Wherever you like, we’ll start to walk through the organizing steps. Maybe the kitchen counter, in the bathroom or with a closet. We’ll practice the essential skills at the heart of organizing: detachment and sorting. You’ll want to read my article on The Ultimate Zen of Enlightened Detachment before we meet. Your arm must be tired from holding that phone. At this point young Padawan (any Star Wars fans out there?) you must step into the breech and begin organizing. My hope is that I’ve helped point out the North star and you’ll find your way to the heart of your organized home.
